Hand Rejuvenation · Dubai

Hands age
before the face.

The skin on the back of the hand is thinner, with less fat and fewer oil glands — so the hands can look a decade or two older than the face. Prof. Dr. Robert Hierner helps restore their volume, texture and contour, with the precision of a hand surgeon.

Why hands age faster

The first place
time shows.

We protect our faces for decades — but rarely our hands. Yet the skin on the back of the hand is naturally thinner, with less underlying fat and fewer oil glands. As that cushion fades, the structures beneath become visible and the surface changes. It's why hands can appear 10–20 years older than the face.

The good news: these are among the most treatable signs of ageing — when they're assessed properly, by someone who understands the anatomy of the hand.

Volume loss

Thinning of the fat layer leaves the back of the hand hollow and deflated.

Visible veins & tendons

With less cover, veins, tendons and bone become more visible on the surface.

Age spots

Sun exposure over the years leaves uneven pigmentation and dark spots.

Thin, crêpey skin

Skin becomes drier and more fragile, with a fine, creased texture.

Hand rejuvenation · Options

How the hands
are restored.

There's no single answer. The right approach depends on your hands, your skin and your goals — and is decided together at consultation. These are the options Prof. Hierner offers.

Surgical · Day procedure

Autologous Fat Transfer

Your own fat, to rebuild volume.

Fat is gently harvested from your own body, purified, and placed beneath the skin on the back of the hand to restore softness, cushion and contour — so veins and tendons are less prominent. The stem cells naturally present in fat also help improve skin quality over time.

Typically 20–30 ml per hand; built conservatively, as about half the volume settles long-term.
Non-surgical

PRP — Platelet-Rich Plasma

Your own platelets, for skin quality.

A small sample of your blood is concentrated and injected to support healing and improve skin quality — and it can help ease joint and tendon discomfort. A non-surgical option, often chosen for earlier signs or alongside other treatments.

Typically a short course of 2–3 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart, with occasional maintenance.
Non-surgical

Regenerative Therapy

Support the tissue itself.

Image-guided regenerative injections that support the body's own repair of skin and joints. Results build gradually over the following months. Part of the practice's broader "hand longevity" approach — treating the hand early and conservatively.

Benefits develop over time; the plan is tailored to your hands at consultation.
Non-surgical

Laser Age-Spot Removal

Even the tone.

Targeted laser energy breaks down the pigment in sun and age spots, which the body then clears, for a more even, brighter skin tone across the back of the hand. Sessions are short.

Brief sessions of around 20–30 minutes; the number needed varies by individual.

Every hand is different. Suitability, approach, recovery and what results you can expect are determined only after an in-person assessment — never promised in advance.

Why a hand surgeon

Form and function,
by one specialist.

The back of the hand is one of the body's most intricate areas — skin, fat, veins, tendons, nerves and joints, layered in millimetres. Rejuvenating it beautifully means understanding it surgically.

Prof. Dr. Robert Hierner is double board-certified in both Hand Surgery and Plastic & Aesthetic Surgery — and editor of the standard textbooks in both fields. The result is rejuvenation that respects the anatomy: natural, measured, and never overfilled.
