Too thick (upper) arms
Especially with weight gain, fat deposits can accumulate on the upper arm, which cannot be broken down again through diet or intensive training. These changes can negatively impact a person’s overall appearance, making even a young person look older or a fit person appearing unhealthy. With liposuction in the upper arm area – and more rarely also with liposuction in the lower arm area – fat can be permanently sucked out of the fat layer directly under the skin. When the skin is sufficiently elastic, the overlying skin shrinks and the shape changes, which restores a defined appearance and thus improves the overall profile of the arm. After liposuction, patients who used to feel embarrassed and hid their arms under clothes feel noticeably better and wear whatever they like again.
Body contour restoration after massive weight loss
After massive weight loss, there is a significant excess of inelastic skin in the upper arm area and often also in the adjacent areas of the armpits and elbows/forearms. Excess skin on the upper arm appears on the inside and back of the upper arm as “flabby upper arms/wing fur” or “bat upper arm” which can spread up into the armpit and even the lateral rib cage and down into the inner elbow and forearm area ( so-called “wingsuit deformity”). Many patients feel severely limited as a result and even perceive this as an impairment of their quality of life, they no longer want to wear short-sleeved T-shirts or blouses. With the help of restoring the body shape in the armpit and upper arm area and possibly restoring the body shape in the elbow and forearm area, the patient can return to a normal body shape.
Lipoedema
In the area of the upper extremities, lipoedema leads to significant disproportionate thickening of the upper arm and/or forearm, with the exception of the hands. Decompression through liposuction for lipoedema in the upper arm area and decompression through liposuction for lipoedema in the forearm area (usually in several operations) have proven effective for efficient and sustained pressure relief (decompression) and, above all, to reduce symptoms. Since a lifelong increase in fatty tissue is to be expected in lipoedema, an operation should be sought at an early stage as soon as the first typical symptoms appear. In many patients, liposuction relieves the symptoms, often over a period of years, or they disappear completely. In any case, an increase in the quality of life, a reduction in the compression class of the compression clothing and a reduction in the frequency of manual lymphatic drainage can be expected. In addition, an operation as early as possible can prevent the development of dangerous secondary diseases
Age changes in the arms
With aging, there is a loss of firm and well shaped arms caused by:
- Loss of muscle volume
- Loss of tension in the subcutaneous fatty tissue
- Loss of skin elasticity
- Increase of fat deposit at the dorsal and lateral upper arm and elbow region
The age-related loss of volume and/or tension in the muscles and subcutaneous fatty tissue, coupled with a loss of elasticity in the skin, and the volume and shape changes in the bones mean that the soft tissue becomes larger than the content . Wrinkles and sagging skin sacks appear.

Too flabby (upper) arms
Wrinkled or sagging insides of the upper arms often disturb a positive body feeling”. With the upper arm lift and more rarely with the elbow and forearm lift, excess, inelastic skin and excess fat can be removed in men and women and thus a change in shape can be achieved, which gives back a defined appearance and thus improves the arm profile overall. Firm and shapely arms give a younger appearance. Patients who had low self-confidence due to excess fat and/or inelastic, sagging skin in the upper arm area feel much more comfortable after this treatment and wear clothes (short-sleeved shirts and T-shirts) again. shirts) just the way you want it.
